DATE NUT BREAD 
1/2 lb. dates cut fine
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. boiling water

Mix the above and let stand. Mix together: 2 c. sugar 4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts 1 tsp. vanilla

Put the two mixtures together and mix well. Pour into well greased bread tins. Fill about 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
