PINWHEELS
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 square unsweetened chocolate, melted

Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolk and beat again, then add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk to which vanilla has been added. Divide into 2 portions, leave one plain and add chocolate to the other. Chill, then roll both portions into very thin rectangular sheets. Lay the chocolate sheet over the vanilla, roll up like a jelly roll, chill again, then cut into thin slices and bake at 375 to 400 degrees on greased cookie sheets for about 10 minutes. 3 1/2 dozen.
