1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg yolk 1 1/2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/8 tsp. salt 3 tbsp. milk 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 square unsweetened chocolate, melted Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolk and beat again, then add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk to which vanilla has been added. Divide into 2 portions, leave one plain and add chocolate to the other. Chill, then roll both portions into very thin rectangular sheets. Lay the chocolate sheet over the vanilla, roll up like a jelly roll, chill again, then cut into thin slices and bake at 375 to 400 degrees on greased cookie sheets for about 10 minutes. 3 1/2 dozen. |
