1 (3 oz.) pkg. orange Jello
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. cold water
1 c. (1/2 pt.) vanilla ice cream
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. red cinnamon candies
1 med. apple, peeled and cut in thin wedges

Dissolve Jello in boiling water. Measure 1/2 cup, add 1/2 cup cold water and chill until slightly thickened, about 45 minutes. Blend ice cream and cinnamon into remaining Jello and pour into serving bowl. Chill until set but not firm.

Combine 1/2 cup cold water and the candies in saucepan. Cook and stir until candies dissolve. Add apple wedges and simmer about 8 minutes or until tender, turning several times. Drain and cool. Arrange apples on ice cream/Jello mixture. Top with clear Jello. Chill until firm, about 1 1/2 hours. Garnish with prepared whipped topping if desired. Makes about 3 cups or about 6 servings.
