FRUIT COCKTAIL TORTE 
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c. sugar
1 reg. can fruit cocktail with juice
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

1/4 c. nuts
1/2 c. brown sugar

Mix all ingredients and place in greased and floured 9 inch square pan. Cover with topping. Bake about 40 minutes at 325 degrees. it will appear sticky and moist when done. serve warm or cold with whip cream.
