CHERRY SQUARES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
2 c. all purpose flour
1 can cherry pie filling
Powdered sugar

Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs, one at a time, alternating with flour. Add vanilla. Pour into greased jelly roll pan. Mark dough off into squares with knife. Put spoonful of pie filling into center of each square. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, until lightly browned. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while warm, and again when cooled. Makes approximately 36 squares. Can be made with any fruit pie filling.
