PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS 
1 (18 oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. melted butter
4 eggs
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Set aside 3/4 cup cake mix. In a large bowl, combine remaining cake mix, butter, and one egg. Mix thoroughly. Press into the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until light golden brown.

In a large bowl, combine remaining cake mix, 3 eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour over partially baked crust and sprinkle with pecans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool in pan. Cut into bars. Makes 18 to 24 bars.
