CHOW MEIN 
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 c. celery, 1/2 inch slices
1 can chow mein vegetables
1 can bean sprouts
1 can water chestnuts
2 c. cooked pork or chicken, cubed
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water

Boil onions and celery in 1 cup water. Boil 10 minutes. Don't drain the water off. Add drained chow mein vegetables, bean sprouts, and water chestnuts (save liquid). Add meat, salt, pepper and soy sauce. Mix well. Thicken with cornstarch mixed with 1/4 cup water. Add some of the reserved liquid, if needed. Serve over rice or chow mein noodles.
