SQUASH BREAD | |
2 pkg. yeast 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 tsp. sugar 1 (12 oz.) pkg. frozen and thawed cooked squash 1 c. milk 1/3 c. packed brown sugar 1/3 c. butter, softened 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 1/2 tsp. salt 5 1/2 to 6 c. flour Combine squash, butter, milk, brown sugar, beaten egg, and salt in large pan. Heat until lukewarm. Add yeast. Mix in 2 cups flour and beat. Add enough flour to handle and knead until elastic. Place in greased bowl and let rise 1 hour. Make into 2 braided loaves. Place in large greased pan; let raise 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes. |
