MERINGUE COOKIES 
2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. sugar
6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1/3 c. chopped walnuts

Have egg whites at room temperature. Add salt, cream of tartar and vanilla. Beat until soft peaks form. Add sugar gradually until stiff peaks form. Fold in bits and nuts making sure they are well distributed. Cover a cookie sheet with brown paper (bag). Cookies do not spread. Bake in a preheated 300 degree oven for 25 minutes. Remove with spatula.
