BEET SALAD 
1 head lettuce, cut up
2 cans beets, sliced
1 c. sugar
1 c. mayonnaise
3 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. onions

Wash lettuce and slice into smaller pieces. Drain beets. Save liquid. Cut into slices. Mix together now add mayonnaise, onions, sugar, and vinegar. Chill and serve. Must be eaten on the day prepared. Recipe can be halved.
