ROLLED CABBAGE, HUNGARIAN STYLE
1 1/4 lb. ground turkey or beef
2 med. onions, chopped
3/4 c. brown rice
1 c. water
2 (10 oz.) cans solid packed tomatoes
1 (10 oz.) can sauerkraut
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
3/4 lb. ground beef
4 cloves garlic
Salt & pepper to taste
2 lg. green cabbage
1 lg. onion

Mix together ground meats, rice, finely chopped garlic, salt, pepper and 1 cup water. Saute 2 chopped onions in oil until light brown. Add to meat mixture and mix well.

In a large pot boil water and add cabbage. Cook just until cabbage leaves soften and can be separated easily. Place 2 tablespoons of meat mixture on each cabbage leaf and roll, enclosing ends.

Slice 1 onion and leftover cabbage and line pot. Place rolls on top and place about 1/3 of tomatoes, tomato sauce and sauerkraut on top of rolls. Continue to layer until all of the rolls are used, ending with sauerkraut. Cook on top of stove for 35 minutes. Place in oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until cooked.
