MOTHER-IN-LAW'S BEST HOMEMADE
VEGETABLE SOUP
 
1 qt. tomatoes
4 lg. potatoes (diced)
3 carrots (diced)
1 lg. onion (diced)
1 sm. can creamed corn
2 stalks celery (diced)
1/2 lb. ground beef or ground chuck

Boil carrots in 1 quart water for 25 minutes. Add tomatoes, potatoes, and celery. Cook slowly for 1 hour. While cooking these, brown onion in 1 tablespoon butter and 2 tablespoons cooking oil. Crumble meat into onion until brown. Add to the vegetable mix, then add corn. Stir well. Add salt and pepper to taste, dash of garlic salt and chili powder and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. Simmer several hours.
