ANISE MACAROONS 
4 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. ground anise seeds
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. vegetable oil
3/4 c. water
Walnuts

SYRUP:

2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. lemon juice

Boil together 20 minutes.

Pour heated oil over dry ingredients. Mix with tablespoon. When cool, mix with hands like pie crust. Add water and mix all ingredients. Take small pieces of dough and roll thin. Put piece of walnut in dough shape and roll by hand like the shape of a finger. Lay side on cookie sheets. Remove and dip in syrup.
