HEAVENLY SALAD (Gelatin Mold) | |
1 pkg. lime Jello 1/2 c. hot water 1/2 c. creamed cottage cheese 1/2 c. mayonnaise 1 can crushed pineapple with juice 1 sm. can evaporated milk 1/4 c. celery, cut fine 1/4 c. nuts, chopped fine Mix together the first two ingredients. Add all remaining ingredients. Mix well and pour into a Jello mold. Set overnight. |

This is the same recipe that Furr's Cafeteria served when I was growing up. Furr's molded it in square/rectangle pans, cut it, and served it on top of a leaf of lettuce. This salad also tastes great made with orange jello, but I'm partial to lime.
Whoever posted this recipe, I thank you from the bottom of my heart--I misplaced my recipe and was beginning to panic.
