HOT ENDIVE SALAD 
1 head curly endive or chicory
6 to 8 potatoes (boiled and diced)
4 eggs (hard boiled, sliced)
1 sm. onion (diced)

The following ingredients added to make dressing:

6 to 8 sliced bacon (diced, sauteed until crisp)
1/4 c. vinegar
1/3 c. sugar
Salt and pepper (to taste)

Put washed endive, torn in pieces, into large bowl. Add hot potatoes, hot eggs and onion. After the bacon is sauteed add the vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper to frying pan and heat. Pour hot dressing over the ingredients in the bowl, toss and serve immediately. Another German recipe.
