THE BEST CRUST FOR FRIED PIES 
5 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 (13 oz.) evaporated milk

Combine dry ingredients; cut in shortening. Combine egg and milk; add to dry mixture, mixing well. Roll out to desired thickness; cut in saucer size circles; fill with fruit. Fold over; crimp edges with fork; fry in deep hot oil.
