ITALIAN CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix flour and sugar together; set aside. Mix in saucepan the butter, shortening, cocoa and water and bring to a boil. Pour over the flour and sugar and mix well. Add soda and buttermilk. Mix and add eggs and vanilla; mix. Pour into 15 1/2" x 11" greased and floured pan and bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Ice with Italian Chocolate Icing.
