TWINKIE TORTE 
10 Twinkies, split lengthwise into thirds
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. water
3 eggs, separated
1 c. whipping cream, whipped
Cool Whip
Chopped nuts (optional)

Melt chips, sugar and water in top of double boiler over hot water (or microwave). Cool - beat egg whites until stiff; set aside. Beat egg yolks, one at a time, into cooled chocolate mixture. Mix well after each addition. Fold chocolate mixture into beaten egg whites and then into whipped cream. Place half of the Twinkie slices into bottom of a 7 1/2 x 11 1/2 inch dish. Top with half the chocolate mixture. Repeat. Top with Cool Whip. Chill at least 4 hours. 12 servings.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
