BUTTERMILK CANDY 
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. light corn syrup
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Add soda to buttermilk in 4-quart saucepan. Stir well and let stand 1 minute. Add sugar, corn syrup and butter. Cook to soft boil stage, 236 to 238 degrees. Add vanilla and nuts. Beat until it begins to thicken. Drop by teaspoons on buttered cookie sheet.
