ONION SOUP 
6 slices French bread, toasted
1 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
3 onions, sliced thinly
3 tbsp. butter
2 cans beef broth (10-oz.)
1 1/2 cup water
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Heat until onions are tender. Pour soup into soup cups and float a slice of bread on each. Place 1/4 cup cheese on top of bread. Microwave 45 to 60 seconds to melt cheese.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
