NO - BAKE, ONE - POT ZITI | |
1 (16 oz.) box ziti (or shells, macaroni or other) 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 4 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded or diced 1/2 tsp. onion powder 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. parsley 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 teaspoon each of these spices, or to taste. Boil ziti with 1 teaspoon cooking oil and drain (and keep on the side). Pour tomato sauce and 1/2 the can with water into the empty pot. Mix in spices and cheese. When the cheese is mostly melted, pour the ziti back in and mix. Serve straight from the pot. (This also works well with 1 cup Ricotta cheese instead of the mozzarella or 6 slices American cheese.) |
