BEEF AND NOODLE CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
3 c. med. egg noodles, cooked and drained
16 oz. tomatoes
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
American cheese slices (at least 6)
1/2 c. olives with pimentos, sliced
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. basil
1/8 tsp. black pepper

Cook meat and onion in large skillet until onion is tender. Stir in noodles, tomatoes, tomato paste, olives, and seasonings. Tear American cheese (4 slices) into small pieces and add to mixture. Simmer a couple of minutes. Turn into a 2-quart casserole. Tear remaining cheese slices (at least 2) and cover top of mixture with them. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until hot. Serves 6.
