HAWAIIAN BANANA NUT BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 ripe bananas, mashed
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped Macadamia nuts

Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in bananas. Combine flour and remaining ingredients; add to creamed mixture, mixing just until blended.

Spoon batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes.
