CREAM CHEESE COOKIES 
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, cut in chunks at room temperature
1 c. butter, cut in chunks at room temperature
1 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat all ingredients together, except flour, until fluffy. Gradually add flour until well blended. You can put dough into cookie press or roll into little balls and flatten on cookie sheet with fingers. Cookies can be decorated with candied cherries, jelly or sprinkles.

Bake 12-15 minutes until edges and bottoms are lightly browned. Cool on racks. After cookies have cooled you can also dip them into melted chocolate, place on wax paper to let chocolate harden. Make about 54 (2 inch) cookies.
