OLD FASHION FUDGE 
2 c. milk
4 c. sugar
2/3 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. white Karo syrup
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts, optional

Mix milk, sugar, cocoa, salt and Karo in blender until very smooth. Pour into heavy pan. Bring to a full boil, stir constantly. Reduce heat to medium and continue cooking until you reach a soft ball stage. Do not stir during this process. After reaching the soft ball stage, remove from heat. Add vanilla and butter; do not stir. Set pan in sink filled with cold water. Let sit undisturbed until pan feels lukewarm on bottom. Remove from water and beat until mixture loses its gloss. Pour immediately into buttered pan.
