CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS 
1 hen
1 c. milk
Self-rising flour

Salt and pepper hen; boil until tender. Make dumplings, using 1 cup milk and enough flour to make a stiff dough. Roll out very thin and cut in small strips. Drop dumplings on top of hen in boiling broth. Cook until tender, not too long so that the dumplings cook to pieces easily.
