APPLE CRUMB PIE 
4 lg. tart apples
1/2 recipe pie pastry
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. flour
1/3 c. butter

Pare apples, cut in eighths and arrange in 9 inch pastry lined pie pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar mixed with cinnamon and nutmeg. Sift remaining 1/2 cup sugar with flour. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs are formed. Sprinkle over apples. Bake in 450 degree oven for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees until done.
