FRUIT BREAD 
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. boiling water
3/4 c. evaporated milk
1/4 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. mixed citron
1/4 tsp. flavoring
4 1/2 c. flour

Combine sugar, butter, salt and boiling water in large bowl. Add evaporated milk. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add to sugar mixture. Stir in eggs, candied fruit and flavoring. Add flour cup at a time, beating until fairly smooth after each addition. cover, let rise in warm place, about 1 1/2 hours. Beat batter down. Turn into well greased tube pan and spread evenly. Let rise in warm place about 45 minutes. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven 45 to 55 minutes. Remove from pan while still hot. Ice with confectioners' sugar icing. (2/3 cup confectioners' sugar mixed with 1 1/2 tablespoon evaporated milk and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla).
