CRANBERRY FRUIT NUT BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1 orange (grind whole orange in blender)
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 c. cranberries, chopped

Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Cut shortening into mixture until it resembles cornmeal. Combine orange and egg, pour into dry mixture. Carefully fold in nuts and cranberries. Spoon into a greased and floured 9"x5"x3" pan. Make sides slightly higher than the center and fill 3/4 of the way full. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown. Store overnight for easy slicing.
