CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 3/4 stick butter 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 2 c. granulated sugar 6 lg. eggs (extra) 1 tsp. butter flavor 3 c. + 2 tbsp. cake flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/8 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. milk For best results have butter, butter, cream cheese and eggs at room temperature. Cream butter, butter and cream cheese. Gradually add sugar, cream well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flavoring. Sift dry ingredients together and gradually add to creamed mixture. Beat well but do not over beat Pour into tube pan that has been greased and floured. Place into cold oven and bake at 300 degrees. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. Let set for 5 minutes in pan then turn out onto cake plate and glaze while warm. GLAZE FOR CAKE: 1/2.c sugar 1 c. hot water Add flavorings: 1 teaspoon each butter and vanilla. Add to boiled water and sugar mixture. Pour onto warm cake. |
