OLD FASHIONED FUDGE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. black walnuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Melt chocolate over hot water. Sift together flour and salt. Beat eggs. Combine ingredients, adding vanilla and walnuts. Mix well and spread on waxed paper in a shallow pan. Bake 10 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 tsp. butter
1 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
3 tbsp. or less boiling coffee

Cream butter and sugar. Add cocoa, then add coffee gradually until frosting is of spreading consistency. When cake is cool, frost and cut in squares. Serves 10 to 12.
