FIRST LADY PRALINES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter
2 c. pecan halves

Blend sugar, salt and evaporated milk. Cook to 232 degrees (soft ball stage). Remove from heat. Add vanilla, butter and pecans. Beat just until candy begins to thicken. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. (Work fast, for candy hardens quickly.) Makes 1 1/2 dozen pieces.
