APPLE CRUMB CAKE 
4 lg. tart apples
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter

Pare apples, cut and arrange in pastry-lined pie pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar mixed with cinnamon. Sift remaining 1/2 cup sugar with flour, cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then 350 degrees about 40 minutes.
