APPLE PIE WITH NUT TOPPING 
3 c. chopped cooking apples
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. aromatic bitters
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. melted butter

Put apples into pie shell. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup sugar and bitters. Mix brown sugar, nuts, flour and melted butter; spread over apples. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes or until apples are tender. Yield: 1 (9 inch) pie.
