RANCH SALAD DRESSING
1 c. mayonnaise
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. parsley flakes
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. Accent
1/8 tsp. pepper

Mix together and serve. Note: tastes like HIDDEN VALLEY® Ranch Dressing. Dry onion flakes may be added if desired. I prefer the dressing without onions.

Isn't Accent Monosodium Glutamate?

 Ruthey says:
Yes, Accent either is or contains monosdium glutamate. I always cook with and use sea salt.

Accent is a flavor enhancer and yes it is MSG. However, MSG in small amounts is not harmful. Nonetheless, I avoid it at all costs. I also used a little sea salt for this recipie. I also used half mayo and half fat-free plain organic yoghurt. I replaced the buttermilk with Lactaid milk and a splash of lemon juice since my son is lactose intollerant. I also added just a pinch of chili powder. I was very happy with the result. It's almost impossible to find a healthy ranch in a bottle. I will never purchase ranch again!

Accent is MSG, and it is delicious! I buy it from the local Chinese shop for cheap. Don't listen to marccc, hes a crazy hippy.

Makes an appropriate taste, but it's really soupy and doesn't have the consistency you would want in a ranch. We ended up adding corn starch to salvage our batch.

It should be noted that Accent is made of MSG for those with allergies.
