CHOCOLATE PEPPERMINT BARS 
FIRST LAYER:

2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 stick butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 c. nuts

SECOND LAYER:

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tbsp. cream
1 tsp. peppermint flavoring

THIRD LAYER:

1 1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 tbsp. butter

FIRST LAYER: Melt chocolate and blend. Combine eggs and sugar, beating until sugar is dissolved. Add flour, nuts and chocolate mixture. Line 8" square pan with greased foil, criss crossed. Overlap so mixture can be lifted from pan for easy cutting. Bake on lower shelf of oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Move to center shelf and continue to bake 5 minutes or until done. Cool.

SECOND LAYER: Combine sugar and butter, blend in cream and peppermint. Spread on cooled layer.

THIRD LAYER: Melt chocolate and butter, blend and spread over last layer. Chill and cut into 1" squares. Freezes beautifully.
