BETA SIGMA PHI STEW 
2 lb. beef, cubed
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 bay leaf
1 can tomatoes (2 c.)
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
6 scraped carrots, chopped
3 sm. onions, cut in sm. pieces
6 med. potatoes, chopped
1/2 green pepper, diced
4 stalks celery, chopped
1/4 head cabbage

Cook beef until brown in small amount of shortening; add all seasonings. Cover with enough water to cover browned meat. Add tomatoes and tomato sauce; cook over medium heat for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Add carrots and onions; cook 15 to 25 minutes.

Add potatoes, pepper and celery; cook 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Cabbage may be added during last 15 minutes of cooking time. Add more water if needed after vegetables are added. Yield 8 servings.
