CHEDDAR CHEESE CORNBREAD 
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 c. canned cream-style corn
1 sm. onion, finely grated
1/4 lb. sharp cheese, shredded
1/4 c. Crisco oil
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. milk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 8 or 9-inch square pan.

Combine dry ingredients. Stir in corn, onion and cheese. Mix oil, eggs, and milk thoroughly and stir into previous mixture just until all ingredients are moistened. Turn into prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Serves 8. Good with Oven-Barbecued Ribs, among other things.
