CRISP SPICE CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. flour
1 stick butter, cut in 8 pieces
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. each: ground nutmeg and salt
1/2 tsp. each: vanilla and allspice

On a sheet of wax paper, stir together flour, salt, and spices. Cream sugar and butter at high speed and add egg yolk, milk, and vanilla. Add flour mixture and mix well. Form into ball and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until firm enough to handle.

Using a level tablespoon for each, form into balls and place two inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten each ball until about 2 1/4 inches in diameter and bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes. Store in tightly covered container.
