OLD-FASHIONED BANANA CAKE 
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. lemon juice
2/3 c. butter, softened
1 1/4 c. mashed, ripe bananas
3 eggs
2/3 c. evaporated milk

Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans. Sift in large bowl first 5 ingredients. Mix evaporated milk, lemon juice, butter and banana. Add alternately to dry ingredients. Beat at medium for 2 minutes. Add eggs. Beat 3 minutes. Pour into pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until done. Frost with Maple Bon Bon Frosting.

MAPLE BON BON FROSTING:

Combine:

1/2 c. softened butter
1/4 tsp. maple flavoring
1/4 c. evaporated milk

Gradually blend in 1 pound sifted powdered sugar. If too thick, add just a little more milk.
