FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. salad oil
2 c. sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
3 c. chopped, ripe apples
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla

Blend salad oil, sugar, and eggs. Add chopped apples and nuts; add vanilla.

Put in COLD oven to start. Start oven at 325 degrees; bake about 45 minutes. Makes one 9 x 13 cake or 2 layers.

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. light brown sugar
1/4 c. Pet milk

Melt butter and sugar over low heat, then add milk. Bring to a full foil; remove from heat and cool. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir in and then ice cake.
