SHOO-FLY PIE 
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. hot water
1/2 c. black strap molasses

Combine first 3 ingredients into crumbs; set aside. Dissolve soda in water and add liquid to molasses. Pour liquid mixture into pastry-lined pan. Top with all of the crumb mixture; distribute evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes until firm. 6-8 servings.
