OLD FASHION TURNOVERS | |
2 c. sugar 1 c. Crisco 3 eggs 6 c. flour 6 tbsp. baking powder 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 tsp. nutmeg Cream sugar and Crisco. With mixer add one egg at a time, then gradually add milk. Sift flour, baking powder and nutmeg, then mix with creamed mixture. Form dough into 1 1/2" balls then flatten to add one heaping tablespoon filling in the center. Turn dough over filling into half circle then press edges with fork. Place on floured cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes until light brown. Your favorite pudding or preserves. Makes 3 dozen. |
