MAPLE MELTAWAYS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. maple-flavor extract
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. pecan halves

Into a large bowl, measure flour, softened butter, sugar, maple-flavor extract and salt. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until blended, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Increase speed to medium; beat until light and fluffy. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll into 1 inch balls and put about 1 inch apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet. Gently press a pecan half into top of each cookie. Bake 12 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned. Cool cookies slightly on cookie sheet, then with pancake turner, carefully loosen cookies and remove to wire rack to cool completely. Store cookies in tightly covered container to use up within 2 weeks. Makes approximately 4 dozen cookies. Approximately 80 calories per cookies.....OUCH!!!....Enjoy!
