1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. oil
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. orange flavoring
1 pkg. chopped dates
1 c. black walnuts, chopped
1 c. buttermilk

Cream sugar and oil. Add eggs. Mix dry ingredients. Add flavoring, nuts, dates and buttermilk. Combine and mix well. Bake in tube pan 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Mix 1 cup of orange juice and 1 cup sugar. Let get hot. Prick cake with a fork and pour juice over cake.
