1 (2 lb.) bag hash browns (tater tots), thawed 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese 1/3 cup butter 8 oz. dairy sour cream 1 (10 oz.) can cream of chicken soup 1 pkg. sausage links, browned and cut into chunks (optional) Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix thawed hash browns with cheddar cheese, set aside. Mix butter, sour cream, and soup. Microwave 45 seconds, and stir well. Slowly pour butter mixture into hash browns, mixing together as you pour. Mix in sausage, if desired, and make sure all ingredients are distributed well. Place in oven safe casserole dish. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, stir well, and bake for another 15 minutes.
