BUTTERSCOTCH OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. quick cooking oats
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 bag butterscotch morsels
Sugar to dip cookies in

Mix first 6 ingredients together. Cream shortening, egg and vanilla and beat well. Stir in oats and nuts and form into small balls. Dip tops in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees 10-12 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
