ROLLED SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. softened butter
1 egg or 2 whites
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. mace (optional)
Homemade or canned frosting
Decorative candies

1. Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and beat well.

2. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and mace.

3. Blend into creamed mixture. Chill 1 hour.

4. Divide dough in 1/2. On a lightly floured surface, roll each 1/2 to 1/8 or 1/4 inch thickness. Use floured cookie cutters and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
