OATMEAL COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts (chopped)
1/2 c. Crisco (lard)
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. coconut

Cream fat (butter and Crisco). Add sugar; cream until smooth. Drop in eggs and beat until smooth. Add flour, soda, salt, oatmeal; knead to mix. Add nuts and coconut. Roll in wax paper. Put in ice box or freezer until ready to use. Cut in slices and bake at 350 degrees until brown.
