PICKLED BEETS 
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
2 c. strong vinegar
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tbsp. cinnamon

Pour over cooked beets which have been cut into 3 or 4 pieces (according to size of which you like your pickles). Boil 10 minutes. Pack hot into jars and put into boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
